Delonte West - Cleveland CavaliersIt’s much too early in the NBA season to be worried about the Cavaliers. But there has certainly been cause for concern. The Cavs lost their first two games. They haven’t figured out how to work newly acquired Shaquille O’Neal into the offense, and Delonte West, who is arguably the second most important member of this team, has been inactive due to ongoing personal issues.

So tonight’s game against Charlotte was an important step forward for the Cavs. Sure, they evened their record (2-2) with a 90-79 win. But the important part of this game is that Delonte West was able to play.

West came off the bench and scored 13 points in 24 minutes, along with 2 assists, 2 rebounds, and a steal - a very promising start to his season. But as the Cavaliers and their fans know, Delonte West’s value to this team goes far beyond his statistics.
