Terrelle Pryor - Ohio State BuckeyesThe Buckeyes continued to roll through the Big Ten with a 33-14 win over the Hoosiers in Indiana.

Coming into this game, the Ohio State defense had held opponents scoreless the past two weeks. Indiana finally broke that streak with a touchdown in the second quarter. They added another meaningless TD in the final seconds. All in all, another good showing by the Buckeyes’ defense.

Terrelle Pryor had a solid game, throwing for 159 yards and 3 touchdowns, and rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown. Brandon Saine posted some impressive numbers as well, getting his first start for injured Dan Herron. He rushed for 113 yards on 17 carries.

A lot of close games in the Big Ten this week:

  • Michigan, after barely beating Indiana at home last week, lost to Michigan State in overtime, 26-20.
  • Wisconsin edged out Minnesota, 31-28.
  • Northwestern hang on to beat Purdue, 27-21.
  • Iowa, playing a non-conference game, beat Arkansas State, 24-21.
  • In a game that was not close, Penn State beat Illinois 35-17.

For those keeping score, this leaves just three undefeated teams in conference play after only the second week. The three unbeaten teams are Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Iowa. The Buckeyes play Wisconsin next week and Iowa on November 14. So they really control their own destiny. If they can win out, the Big Ten title is theirs alone.

Now, how are the national polls shaping up?

Ohio State came into this week ranked #9. The top two teams, Florida and Texas, did not play this week. It’s unlikely that they will move from their current spots. Of the other six teams ahead of the Buckeyes, only one of them lost - #8 Oklahoma. The Sooners lost to #17 Miami. Most likely Ohio State will move up to #8. Miami could jump to somewhere between #9 and #12.
