Browns lose to Ravens, 34-3

Derek Anderson - Cleveland BrownsSomebody please, make it stop!

Just in case you were tempted to think that the Browns season couldn’t get any worse in week 3, here it is. See that picture? That’s Derek Anderson. Remember him? Sure you do. And look what he’s wearing. A helmet. You know why? He played today. No joke. What happened to Brady Quinn? Mangini benched him in favor of Anderson. Yeah, you read that right.

Brady Quinn had a less than stellar first half, going 6/8 for 34 yards and an interception. Of course, this was without his starting running back, protection on the right side of the line, or a legitimate #2 or #3 wide receiver. But anyway, bottom line - the Brady Quinn-led offense was scoreless in the first half.

So Mangini pulls him at halftime in favor of Derek Anderson. To be fair, the Browns did manage to score three points on a field goal. Of course, Anderson matched their point total in interceptions, throwing 3 picks in the second half.

So here’s some great news. The Browns have a quarterback controversy again! Will Quinn be back after Anderson’s 3-interception debacle? Will Anderson be given another chance as the starter? Nobody knows.

One thing is certain though. Cincinnati has to be worried about next week’s game, not knowing which QB to prepare for. Right? Right?!
