Better Late than Never

The Browns finally did the right thing in handling the whole Winslow debacle. They lifted his suspension and fined him $25,000.
This is what should have happened in the first place. Winslow’s comments did not warrant a suspension. The appeal, which had been pushed back to Tuesday, probably would have gone in Winslow’s favor. Maybe the Browns’ front office realized this and went along with this deal.
Hopefully now, since this compromise has been reached, this matter can be put to rest.
Unfortunately, since this deal wasn’t worked out until Saturday night, Kellen Winslow will not be playing against the Jaguars. The suspension wasn’t lifted until after the team traveled to Jacksonville, and Winslow didn’t practice with the team all week. So even though he’s not suspended, he’s still inactive for the game.
Too bad the Browns didn’t do the right thing at the beginning. We’re going to need all the help we can get this week.
Then again, if Derek Anderson is starting, Winslow might not have seen many catchable balls anyway.
