Is It That Time Already?
October 7th, 2008 at 10:50 pm by Displaced Cleveland FanThe Cavaliers played their first preseason game tonight. Kind of snuck up on me. I didn’t realize it until I saw the final score on ESPN.
So the Cavs lost to Toronto 104-84. Not a big deal. It’s the preseason. The preseason’s not for winning games. It’s to get ready to win games. After all, look at the Browns. They lost their first seven preseason games this year.
Wait… you mean those weren’t all preseason games? Did someone tell the coaches?
Anyway…
Understandably, Lebron did not play very much at all. With his play in the Olympics and having almost no offseason to rest, there’s no sense in giving him a lot of minutes in a meaningless game. Besides, there are some other guys who need more minutes than Lebron to get ready for the regular season (which starts the 28th against Boston, I do know that.)
So here’s hoping the Cavs are making the preparations they need to to make a championship run. This is potentially the best group of players they’ve had around Lebron James. Let’s hope they stay healthy and play like they’re capable of playing.
