Playoff Predictions

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

It’s playoff time for Major League Baseball. The Indians are out, but that doesn’t mean we have no interest in what happens. (OK. Maybe some of you have no interest. But I do.) So who’s going to win the World Series this year? Here are my playoff predictions:

Not Throwing in the Towel Yet

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Phil Savage isn’t giving up on the Browns season yet. So I guess we shouldn’t either?

You know, he’s probably right. Even though the Browns were dangerously close to starting 0-4, they did manage to get an ugly win in Cincinnati and now have the bye week to try and get their act together.

So what’s going to change? Apparently not the quarterback. Or the head coach. At least not yet according to the GM on Monday: (more…)

Season’s Not Over for CC

CC Sabathia, former Indian, Brewers MVP

CC Sabathia, former Indian, Brewers MVP

Congrats on taking the Brewers to the postseason, CC. And thanks for giving us Cleveland fans someone to root for in the playoffs. You see, us Cleveland fans, we still love you CC. So why don’t you win Milwaukee a World Series then come back and help the Tribe win one.

Indians lose to White Sox, 5-1

And so ends the 2008 season.

The good news: The Tribe managed to finish with a .500 record. A few months ago, I didn’t think that would be possible.

The bad news: The Tribe’s season is over. They went from being a game away from the World Series last year to fighting with the Royals for 4th place for part of the year this year. Injuries really hurt the team. Imagine what they would have done without losing some key players.

Maybe next year…

Browns beat Bengals, 20-12

Whew… sigh of relief.

Really, if Cleveland couldn’t even beat Cincinnati and went to 0-4, we’d be looking at a really ugly rest of the season. The offense didn’t look too bad in the second half. Then again, we were only playing Cincy. Hopefully the bye week will give them some time to straighten things out.

And So It Begins

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now. So here it is: my site dedicated to my favorite Cleveland sports teams - the Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers (and the Buckeyes too).

There was really no good time to start a blog like this. The Indians are finishing their season. The Browns and Buckeyes started a few weeks ago. All the seasons overlap. There is no universal off-season so I can start at the beginning of a new year for each of the teams. No point waiting then, so I’m starting now.

So, welcome to the site. Subscribe and come back, as I will be adding more content. And comment. I’d like to hear from the readers.

And for now, please excuse the default generic template. I’ll get something better soon.
